The new artist
in the Vellum Gallery

Tania Kandracienka

We are delighted to welcome a new artist to Vellum Gallery — Tania Kandracienka.

Her painting grows from experiences shaped in the realities of contemporary Belarus.
On this foundation, she develops her own distinctive visual language — intense, deliberate and deeply emotional.

In her work, she returns to the themes of childhood and adolescence — moments that shape sensitivity, memory and the way we perceive and experience the world.
She transforms personal experiences into paintings filled with tension, subtlety and striking contrasts, giving them meanings that reach far beyond the individual perspective.

This is a dialogue between impulse and reflection, the energy of gesture and the discipline of craft — art distinguished by technical mastery and an exceptional sense of colour and contrast.

The work of Tania Kandracienka moves, invites reflection and calls for attention.

It does not describe — it allows one to experience.

Highlight Project:

I AM DISAPPEARING

An artistic project by Justyna Żak – unique glass decorative objects and a contemplative reflection on fragility, permanence, and impermanence.

In the past two years alone, Alpine glaciers have lost 10% of their volume. Scientists warn that by 2050, half of the Alpine ice cover could disappear.

Can art be a meaningful voice and tool in responding to the challenges of the modern world?

The project “I Am Disappearing” was born as a creative response to these alarming changes – a committed artistic initiative by Justyna Żak, inspired by her personal observation of a retreating glacier during a hike around the Mont Blanc massif.

The result is a unique series of vases made of blown glass shaped directly in ice molds – instead of traditional wooden forms.

Each object is a trace of a disappearing world – artistically exceptional, symbolically rich and metaphorically charged, serving as a reminder of our responsibility and a call to action.

Chaque pièce est une trace d’un monde en train de disparaître – exceptionnelle sur le plan artistique, symbolique et métaphorique, elle nous rappelle notre responsabilité et nous invite à agir.

An integral part of the project is a powerful documentary film that captures the creative process and reinforces the message of the work.
